Sandstorm Glassworks opened in 2010 in Lubbock’s Cultural District. We are a fully equipped glass blowing studio with kiln working equipment and a fully equipped cold working area.
The studio is a private glass studio and is open to the public for workshops, classes, and demonstrations on selected days. Please see our calendar for our upcoming schedule.
We are co-located with Tornado Gallery at 19th and Buddy Holly. They are a staple attraction on the First Friday Art Trail and the Downtown Art Market (second Saturday of each month)
Lee Ware and Bren Merritt manage the day-to-day operation of the studio and teach classes, workshops, and create our own unique glass art.
Lee started in glass blowing in 1992 at the Pratt Center of Fine Art in Seattle, and has most recently at the Penland School of Craft in Penland NC.
Bren was introduced to glass blowing at the 5th Avenue Glass studio in Seattle and studied kiln-working at the Art Glass Fusing Center in Austin Texas.
